According to investigators, Whitney Fetters, a Spanish teacher at Hefner Middle School in Putnam City, met the victim when he was 12 years old and the two began sending each other innocuous texts. But police say what started out as an innocent exchange of electronic missives took a criminal turn in December, when Fetters and the student allegedly began conversing via text about sexual acts. How it started: Police say Fetters left and right met the victim when he was 12 years old and the two began sending each other innocuous texts, but their relationship took a criminal turn in December. Fetters is suspected of swapping X-rated photos and videos with the teenager, including sending him nude photos of herself. The year-old woman is expected to be charged with lewd proposals to a child under 16 and soliciting sexual communication through technology.

A former middle school teacher was arrested on Monday for allegedly sending nude photos of girls with tattoos to a year-old girl and additionally giving her alcohol. She told investigators that Hall spoke to her about tattoos, games, family life, and sex but not with each other. Prosecutors previously could also file separate charges for each individual image, meaning teens who rapidly exchanged dozens of photos via texts or other smartphone messaging applications could potentially be sentenced to significant prison sentences, said Rikki-Lee Chavez, legislative coordinator for the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, which also supported the measure. But she said defense lawyers reported that they were representing teens charged with child sexual exploitation for actions that clearly constituted sexting.
